Welcome to the Mountaineer Kennel Club Web site. We've been helping dogs live better lives in northern West Virginia since being incorporated in 1945.

The Mountaineer Kennel Club (MKC) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that encourages the responsible breeding, training, handling and maintenance of dogs by both current and prospective dog fanciers.

MKC is a proud sponsor of the AKC Canine Health Foundation.

MKC offers a full range of obedience classes as well as puppy training, conformation, agility, tricks, and more. We are pleased to offer the AKC's new S.T.A.R. puppy program!

Classes feature:

curriculums emphasizing positive reinforcement and step-by-step learning,
supportive, well-trained volunteer instructors,
fully matted instructional areas,
limited class size,
training on weekday nights, and
reasonable rates.

MKC also offers a variety of activities for dog fanciers including: therapy dog evaluations, Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing, agility demonstrations, community outreach and public education, canine health clinics, and more.
